Job Description

The Sales Director is primarily responsible for building and managing a successful and profitable retail-consumer business through marketing and branding, product positioning, retail sales, events and merchandising. The director is also accountable for the smooth and cost-effective operations of running the business. He/she is to grow the brand equity and maximise sales for new and existing products, through the conceptualisation and execution of sales & branding strategies.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for identifying, evaluating, forecasting and championing opportunities to the current portfolio and future pipeline

- Responsible to develop and manage key accounts by conducting sales visits and products presentation

- Under the strategic directions of the senior management, conceive and recommend the value proposition and brand and marketing positioning of the company

- Define, develop and manage sales strategies to attain sales targets

- Establishing and building good relationships with the existing customers and develop new relationships with new prospective clients

- Update and educate new product launches and promotions to the customers

- Monitor customers credit facilities to ensure prompt payment from them

- Collaborate with marketing team to devise and implement new ideas for marketing campaigns

- To supervise the team in their daily activities and try to maximize the productivity of each member in the sales team

- To closely monitor competitors’ sales activities, which will include their market share/penetration, pricing, promotion, product offering, etc. To provide such feedback to management so that the company can develop marketing strategies to compete in the identified markets.


Job Requirement

- Degree in any discipline

- Minimum of 10 years overall work experience, at least 5 years at Senior Management level

- Exceptional ability to problem tackle, develop creative solutions, and demonstrate resourcefulness

- Strong team player with creative and approachable personality

- Ability to maintain external and marketplace knowledge and external and internal relationships will also be critical

- Able to work in a fast-paced & dynamic environment

- Able to multi-task in a demanding & fast-paced environment & work independently

- Highly motivated individual to achieve assigned tasks and company objectives

- A strong understanding of the local retail markets and a passion to innovate are key success factors
